Back2Work Group: Tackling unemployment

[music]
Luke: [00:17] Back2Work Group is really about connecting employers with talent that they otherwise potentially wouldn’t have access to and we are really focusing on people in society potentially from deprived backgrounds, underprivileged backgrounds where they maybe not excelled in the education system
Sam: [00:36] It changes them because we give them a chance. And a lot of these people that come onto the course, they just need a chance.
Christopher: [00:41] Back2Work is helping me by refreshing all the knowledge that I've had in the in the past, giving me the new knowledge that I need to move into the future.
Lorraine: [00:49] So there's one learner that stands out for me that that I will always remember. It was a refugee from from Syria. He had so many skills, he owned his own construction company. but obviously had to flee the country and leave all of that behind. Achieved his qualification just through sheer hard work, determination. He had gone on his test and actually passed CSCS test.
Daniel: [01:10] Lorraine is the first tutor that I have met, and experience that I've had and got from her, well, actually, it's really helped me to achieve my goals.
Zara: [01:18] I've got a team of 40, 50, I would say currently at the moment. Our tutors they are quite unique, they’re a great bunch because they genuinely care about the outcome for that learner and the difference that they make.
Sam: [01:29] The skills and the qualifications are our main aspects of what we do, but there is also a duty of care to these people to make sure they are confident, so they go into work for these employers that we're providing for them.
Zara: [01:39] We've provided financial support to learners. We've had people that I've not been able to concentrate in class because they’ve not eaten that day. We'll go out and we'll get food. It’s just those little extra bits that I think does make a difference.
Luke: [01:51] It’s important to me personally, because I get to see the impact that we can have as an organisation. I've met countless people on a regular basis where I see the impact that just a little bit of intervention and support can have in their lives.
Ryan: [02:06] We are really proud to support the Back2Work Group. It’s a business that puts the people first. Whether that’s people who are out of work trying to get them into work, or people who are in work, to empower them to be the best people they can be.
Luke: [02:17] We spend a lot of time really getting to know the employers and businesses that we work with to really make sure that the training that we're going to deliver is going to have the impact that they need, and in a context that's relevant to their organisation.
We'd love you just to come and connect with us, to explore how you can maybe look at a more socially responsible recruitment model, how you can develop your existing talent to create succession pipelines in your workforce to keep social mobility at the heart of your recruitment and talent planning. This is more than about training, really, it's about transforming people's lives.
