UK & Ireland law firm Browne Jacobson has appointed William Darmody as Partner and Head of the firm’s Irish corporate team, at a time of significant growth for the firm’s Dublin office.
William has extensive experience in company law matters, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, venture capital and private equity investments. At Browne Jacobson, he will be advising many high potential growth companies and innovation driven enterprises with legal issues relating to scaling, fundraising, corporate governance and exits.
William’s appointment is the latest in a series of new hires for the growing Dublin team. Since opening in July 2022, the firm’s Irish office has relocated to a larger office at 2 Hume Street, Dublin, in order to meet the needs of the growing team and client base.
Before joining Browne Jacobson in January 2024, William worked for international law firm Maples Group for over eight years and prior to that in a large Irish corporate law firm. He has also been named as a key lawyer with The Legal 500 EMEA.
With significant experience in corporate law, William has built a strong reputation in the market due to his commercial awareness and a solution-driven approach. He has been involved in many of Ireland’s most significant equity financings and M&A transactions in recent years and has experience across a range of sectors including technology, life sciences, retail, education, manufacturing and aviation.
