Browne Jacobson advises leading technology-driven compliance specialist on its continued market consolidation with two further acquisitions

UK & Ireland law firm Browne Jacobson has advised the technology-driven compliance specialist Obsequio Group Limited (Obsequio) on its acquisition of two compliance firms, Metro Safety Group and Dakro Air & Water, in a move to expand its portfolio.

Obsequio is the UK’s leading ‘one-stop-shop' for all aspects of safety and compliance, making life easier for facilities managers and responsible persons across various sectors. 

Metro Safety offers consultancy and testing services, including fire risk assessments, and water safety, to clients in the housing, facilities management, retail, education and leisure sectors. Dakro’s portfolio of air quality compliance services includes ductwork cleaning and fire damper testing among others, primarily for the facilities management, healthcare and industrial sectors.

These acquisitions are the latest step in the Obsequio’s ‘buy and build’ strategy, which focuses on broadening their geographical coverage, enhancing their service capabilities and geographical reach, and expanding their market presence in the healthcare, housing association, facilities management and industrial sectors. 

The firm advised Obsequio in navigating the complexities of the corporate transaction, ensuring that the integration of fire, health and safety, and environmental consultancy services aligned seamlessly with existing capabilities and meeting regulatory requirements.

The Browne Jacobson team was led by corporate partner Mike Jackson, who led two separate teams for each acquisition. The team which advised on the acquisition of Metro Safety included senior associates Matthew Dorman, Thomas Donohoe and Christian Burchardt, and associates Alys Bratch, Zahra Khan and Patrick Berry. Advising on the acquisition of Dakro were senior associates Thomas Donohoe and Christian Burchardt and associate Asha Patel.
