Public sector planning club

20 November 2024
Browne Jacobson, Nottingham

Planning is generating headlines, primarily being portrayed as a system which is delaying the delivery of homes in the UK. However the impact of this on local planning authorities is less clear and there is a real risk that making sweeping changes to the planning system is going to further burden case strapped local authorities increase uncertainty and delays.

Join us for a morning of discussing planning in the context of local planning authorities. Our topics are:

  • The proposed changes to the NPPF – what do they mean for local planners? - with Ben Standing
  • An update on recent planning case law, including the case of Finch - with Richard Barlow
  • An analysis of the government new compulsory purchase guidance, in particular considering its impact on the proposed changes to the planning system - with Jonathan Allen
