Charlotte was called to the bar in 2012 and joined Browne Jacobson in 2023. Based in London, she brings with her a wealth of experience in high-profile and complex cases across a broad spectrum of practice areas. Charlotte’s specialisms include public inquiries, inquests, healthcare regulatory investigations, professional discipline, education and higher education.

Charlotte has recently been involved in notable cases such as the Grenfell Tower Inquiry and the Brook House inquiry, as well as many complex inquests including those engaging article 2 and before a jury. Charlotte usually acts on behalf of NHS trusts and Local Authorities and several of her cases have attracted media attention.

With over 13 years’ experience, Charlotte’s client centred approach involves clear and effective communication with her clients, ensuring that they are kept informed and involved throughout the legal process. Inquest touching the death of Daniel Tucker

Daniel Tucker took his own life within hours of release from, but whilst still formally detained at, Highbury Hospital. Dan had a diagnosis of EUPD and died after ingesting a highly toxic substance he had purchased from a controversial website. The Trust admitted serious failings surrounding risk assessments and failing to hand over important information around suicidal intent.

Complex Inquests

Acted for a Local Authority in two homicide inquests that were widely reported in the national media. Michaela Hall was in an abusive relationship with Lee Kendall who subjected by her to significant physical violence, coercion and control. Kendall murdered Michaela in 2021.

Education

Advised and acted for a number of Academy Trusts in defending disability discrimination claims in Tribunal.

Acted for corporate core-participants in several high-profile public inquiries and acted for the inquiry team on IICSA.
