The Environment Bill which will provide a new domestic framework for environmental governance post-Brexit, as well as making provision on specific environmental policy areas including waste, air quality, water, nature and biodiversity, and conservation covenants is currently being scrutinised by the Public Bill Committee. The Committee is currently able to receive written evidence; however, it will stop receiving written evidence at the end of the Committee stage, which is currently set as no later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 29 September 2020. When the Committee concludes its consideration of the Bill it is no longer able to receive written evidence and it can conclude earlier than the expected deadline of 5.00pm on Tuesday 29 September 2020.
Time really is of the essence if you have any interest in the myriad of subjects covered by the Bill and wish that interest to be brought to the attention of the Committee, for them to consider and possibly reflect in an amendment to the Bill.
