Data Protection Officer Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes
Our two Data Protection Officer (DPO) continuous development programmes provides school and trust DPOs with all they need to keep their knowledge up to date throughout the academic year.
Beginning in November 2024 and delivered remotely via Zoom, delegates on both courses will experience ‘bite-sized’ two-hour learning sessions interspersed with one-hour reflection and Q&A sessions to embed learning, ensure all your questions are answered and concerns discussed, and provide the opportunity for you to network with fellow DPOs.
Both courses are led by education lawyer and data protection expert Dai Durbridge. Dai has extensive experience advising schools and trusts on all things data protection, including complex breaches, subject access requests and cyber attacks.

Which course is right for me?
This depends on your level of experience:
- The foundation course is designed for new or inexperienced DPOs who have had little or no formal training and who need to understand the basics in order to establish a good foundation for their DPO duties.
- The advanced course is for experienced DPOs who’s role requires them to focus on complex issues around data breach, cyber risk, subject access requests, AI, and culture change as part of their ongoing data protection training and updating.
