Simon Brooks

Simon leads our volume residential property team. His team’s work includes plot sales for private sector developers, shared ownership plot sales for registered providers, right to buy and right to acquire disposals for local authorities and registered providers, staircasing for registered providers, and buy backs of housing stock previously sold pursuant to the right to buy for local authorities. 

Simon joined Browne Jacobson as a newly qualified solicitor in 2012. He initially worked on a variety of real estate transactions, including site acquisitions, commercial leases and related matters, and academy conversions, but soon turned his focus to residential development and plot sales. Simon built a reputation for exceptional client service in this area and over time has built his team from the ground up and expanded their expertise into other volume residential work. 

Simon leverages his background to drive a commercial approach to residential transactions within his team. Simon also advises on the acquisition and funding of sites for residential development. 

Simon is passionate about opening up the profession to talented individuals, whatever their background. He is a keen advocate of our solicitor apprenticeship programme and supports junior members of his team in pursuing alternative routes to qualification.
