Scott leads on our construction work for public sector clients (including local authorities, ALMOs and the NHS) and education (including academy trusts and higher education establishments). Scott’s previous experience includes working in house at a large local authority, and clients value his pragmatic, commercial approach to overcoming issues on any given project. He also has experience acting for funders, developers and contractors on a wide range of issues relating to property transactions, developments and funding arrangements.
Scott is able to advise you on a wide range of issues and all of the industry standard forms of construction contract, bespoke forms of contract, collateral warranties, appointments, novation agreements, performance bonds, parent company guarantees and letters of intent. He has assisted clients in relation to a wide range of post-contractual issues ranging from negotiating disputes, engaging in the Pre-Action Protocol for Construction and Engineering Disputes and methods of alternative dispute resolution (without prejudice meetings, mediation and adjudication).
Scott has published articles in Local Government Lawyer and Lexology and has given training to regional branches of the RICS.
