Matt specialises in contentious Energy & Infrastructure disputes as well as project and Private Finance Initiative (‘PFI’) advisory work, including the handback of PFI assets. In the last 10 years Matt has acted for employers, contractors (of all tiers) and insurers on a broad range of pre and post completion matters, both domestically and internationally.
Complex Infrastructure disputes are a particular area of focus for Matt. He has acted for clients on disputes involving delays to the construction of data centres for global technology companies, major highway expansion projects and the termination of a PFI Project Agreement for the construction and operation of an Energy from Waste Facility. Matt also advises on fire-safety matters, including for multi-national contractors. He also advises on the hand-back of PFI assets at contract expiry.
Matt’s ability to grapple with technically heavy projects whilst maintaining perspective on the big picture is a key strength, something for which he has received praise from leading Counsel and clients alike.
