Kiera has been an integral part of the firm's Exeter office throughout (and since) completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Luke Berry. Kiera has appeared in courts across the country dealing with work as varied as court of protection, inquests, education and regulatory proceedings.
Alongside a busy court diary, Kiera drafts court documents and advises clients across the full field of the firm’s work. Kiera is also routinely instructed in complex multi-day hearings dealing with vulnerable witnesses, historic sexual and general abuse allegations as well as proceedings involving health, welfare and serious medical treatment.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Kiera worked as a construction and property litigation paralegal where she assisted in a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious matters including rent arrears claims, land disputes and architectural negligence claims. Additionally, Kiera has been a senior member of the Valuation Tribunal for England and Wales for the past four years, regularly chairing appeals related to council tax banding, rateable values, and business rates.
Kiera is the 2024 recipient of the Sutton Trust Alumni Volunteer Award for her outstanding contributions to the Pathways to Law programme and other widening participation initiatives. Passionate about breaking down barriers, Kiera actively participates in the firm’s Social Mobility Group, where she developed a free job simulator for aspiring barristers.
