Heather was admitted as a solicitor in 1990 and subsequently called to the Bar in 2021. She joined Browne Jacobson in May 2022 after almost 10 years working in professional discipline and regulation at the Solicitors Regulation Authority where she held a senior position and handled several high-profile cases.
Heather has a wealth of litigation and advocacy experience in a wide variety of areas of the law. She has worked in litigation throughout her career covering judicial review, regulatory and disciplinary, commercial, family, land, housing, personal injury, tax, probate disputes, possessions, immigration, licensing, planning, employment, and other more discrete areas.
Since joining Browne Jacobson she has expanded her expertise to include appearing regularly in front of Professional Disciplinary Panels. Heather also appears regularly in the County and Magistrates Courts, handling anti-social behaviour closure orders, possessions, and injunctions. She has also undertaken advocacy in the Coroners’ courts.

Civil Court-Equality Act 2010 claim
Heather acted for a local authority client in possession proceedings drafting skeleton argument and representing in interlocutory hearings considering complex areas of the Equality Act 2010.
TRA v A Teacher
This case was one of many prosecutions for inappropriate relationships. The teacher was prohibited for engaging in an inappropriate relationship with Pupil A, which was sexually motivated. Due to the nature of the case Heather was able to demonstrate her exceptional handling of sensitive issues and vulnerable individuals.
Closure orders
Heather has acted in many applications for closure orders for a local authority. She has been able to demonstrate her exceptional ability to cross examine difficult defendants and successfully obtain the orders sought despite strong opposition.
