Karen works in the Clinical Negligence team where she represents NHS Trusts in a variety of cases ranging from complex birth injury cases to misdiagnosed cancer cases.
Karen understands the difficulties and stresses that a clinician involved in these types of cases can face, as well as the commercial needs of the indemnifier. She resolves cases promptly and understands the importance of weighing up the benefits of litigation and the associated costs, advising NHS Resolution and Trusts on the benefits and risks of litigation in a clear and realistic manner.
Karen has experience in dealing with cases involving alleged false imprisonment and Article 2 inquests where death has occurred whilst in prison, police custody, immigration centres and whilst under secure escort. She has assisted with Group Action claims, Judicial Reviews and an Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse.
