The National Education Union (NEU) has announced their members have voted in favour of taking industrial action with seven days of strike action taking place during February and March, affecting a reported 23,400 schools in England and Wales.
The action is going to be disruptive to pupil learning if not managed carefully. The Department for Education (DFE) require academy trusts to engage in appropriate contingency planning, taking steps to minimise any disruption to pupil learning and to keep schools open as far as possible.
Planning and preparation are going to be key to minimising learning loss for students. Industrial action also raises difficult personal issues regarding strike participation and pay.
That’s where we can help, with support and practical guidance to help you plan for and manage industrial action at your school or trust. Join Ian Deakin (Partner, Education), Miriam Onwochei-Garcia (Associate), Gill Martindale (Senior HR Consultant) and Sarah Linden (Senior Associate, Education) for this free on-demand webinar to inform your preparations for the forthcoming strikes.
