Building safety in Wales: Planning for success

13 March 2025
Capital Tower, Cardiff

This event focuses on the practical steps that built environment stakeholders can be taking to get ahead of the curve in managing compliance with the regulatory regime implemented by the Building Safety Act 2022, for projects both in and out of Wales.

Following the session, we will be hosting networking drinks at Laguna.

The regulatory regime implemented by the Building Safety Act 2022 impacts every built environment stakeholder, and the consequences of non-compliance can be severe.

With the benefit of our lived experience of the changes introduced in England, this session will consider the practical ways in which built environment stakeholders in Wales can aim:

  1. To manage compliance if working on projects across the border; and
  2. To get a head start on being prepared for the implementation of the new building safety regime for Wales.

Topics will include:

  • A progress update on the development of the new building safety regime for Wales;
  • Pre-contract considerations and the impact on programming, pricing and risk;
  • Competency in the supply chain and the management of downstream risk; and
  • Process mapping and the implementation of systems to manage compliance during the lifecycle of a project.

This event is suitable for all construction sector stakeholders, including contractors, private and public sector organisations procuring construction work, and allied professionals.
