Browne Jacobson announces financial results with 11% growth in revenues
Browne Jacobson has announced its financial results for 2021-22 with revenues up 11 per cent year-on-year to £94m, up from £85m. It marks the 13th consecutive year of growth with a 59 per cent increase in revenues since 2015 (£59m).

Commenting on this year’s results Richard Medd, Managing Partner, said:
“These results represent another impressive year exceeding our year-end targets and delivering strong performances across all our legal teams.
“The firm has continued to show great resilience as we emerge from the Covid pandemic, significantly outperforming budget in terms of fee income, cost control and cash collection.
“It’s great that our bonus schemes are structured so that we share this success with our people.
“These results also demonstrate the success of our balanced portfolio strategy which continues to deliver the necessary growth to allow us to continually invest in our talent pool, IT and office infrastructure whilst delivering exceptional client service.
“We anticipate continued investment in the business in the year ahead, which includes the relocation of our Birmingham team to one of the city’s flagship office developments at 103 Colmore Row.”
Key highlights during the year included a series of high profile client wins, panel appointments and re-appointments including Hiscox, London Universities Purchasing Consortium, NHS Resolution, Crown Commercial Service, EM Lawshare and Shaw Education Trust, amongst others. The firm was also appointed to represent the Welsh Government on the national Covid inquiry and advised on a number of significant transactions including Clean Power Hydrogen Group Limited (CPH2) on its 15-year partnership with Northern Ireland Water and its subsequent admission to AIM.
The year also saw a number of key senior hires including Graham Ball as the new head of its banking and finance team in Manchester, Jason Nash as the new Manchester head of personal injury, Charlotte Antoniou as the firm’s new Head of Education in London, nuclear and renewable energy specialist Zoe Stollard, Government specialist Khalid Ghazi, specialist commercial contracts and IP partner Cat Driscoll, real estate partner Roland Gray, private client partner Imogen Holmes and technology projects specialist Kay Chand. The firm also announced 31 partner, legal director and senior associate promotions alongside new head and deputy heads of office for Birmingham, Exeter, Manchester, and London.
The firm further enhanced its reputation for promoting EDI (equity, diversity & inclusion) in the legal sector after being named the UK’s leading employer for social mobility by the Social Mobility Foundation alongside a plethora of national awards in seeking to create a level playing field for those entering the legal profession. The firm also launched a dedicated mentoring scheme to promote black lawyers into the profession and was accredited as a Living Wage Employer.
